Twelve months on the road.

A selection of homes, cafes and commercial spaces we shipped in the last year, with notes on what made each tricky.

Living room with custom curved emerald sofa, rattan armchairs and tropical garden view
Residential

Bukit Tunku Residence

Brief: A three-piece living room for a multi-generational home overlooking the tropical garden. The client wanted seating low enough that grandchildren could climb on, but formal enough for visitors.

What we built: A curved four-seat emerald velvet sofa with extra-firm Belgian foam, two rattan-back lounge armchairs in solid walnut, a tufted mustard ottoman.

Tricky bit: The driveway gradient meant the original sofa scale would not clear the front door at delivery. We split the build into a three-seater + chaise, joined invisibly on site by Hafiz.

Cafe interior with mustard banquette and marble bistro tables
Hospitality

Mont Kiara Cafe Fit-out

Brief: A 32-seat speciality cafe needed banquette seating along a 9-metre wall plus six freestanding bistro chairs. The owner had been burned by laminate banquettes that delaminated within a year.

What we built: Solid oak banquette frames, mustard FR-rated wool seat cushions on individually replaceable foam inserts, ten bentwood bistro chairs with woven cane backs.

Tricky bit: The banquette had to be installed overnight to avoid losing a trading day. Three of our team worked the install from 9pm to 4am. Espresso the next morning was on the house.

Boutique hotel suite with bespoke oak bed frame and reading armchairs
Hospitality

Langkawi Resort Suite

Brief: Twelve identical king-size bed frames, twelve pairs of reading armchairs, and twelve writing desks for a 24-room boutique resort renovation. Marine-grade finishing needed throughout.

What we built: Low oak platform beds with linen-upholstered headboards (replaceable covers); pairs of compact armchairs in salt-resistant bouclé; writing desks in chengal with brushed brass drawer pulls.

Tricky bit: Salt air and humidity at island sites is brutal on standard finishes. We tested four sealer combinations on offcuts for three weeks before settling on a marine spar varnish-over-oil combination.

Compact condominium living-dining with custom navy sofa and walnut dining set
Residential

Mid Valley Condominium

Brief: A 740 sq ft one-bedroom condo for a young professional. Open-plan living and dining had to absorb both functions without crowding. Budget-conscious but no compromise on material honesty.

What we built: A compact navy two-seater sofa with hidden under-cushion storage; a 1.4m walnut dining table that extends to 1.8m via concealed butterfly leaf; four cane-back chairs that stack tight.

Tricky bit: Lift dimensions ruled out a single-piece extending table. We built the leaf removable but invisible — the join is under-table, in line with a structural rail. Two minutes to extend, no tools.

Corporate reception lounge with leather barrel armchairs and marble drum table
Commercial

KLCC Reception Lounge

Brief: A regional law firm wanted to replace stiff guest seating with something inviting but unmistakably premium. Heavy daily use, monthly events, twelve-hour days for the reception team behind the desk.

What we built: Four full-grain tan leather barrel armchairs around a brass-trimmed travertine drum coffee table; a low-back reception bench in olive green wool with concealed device charging.

Tricky bit: The reception bench had to accommodate cable management for charging without any visible holes or labels. We routed channels through the timber base and used magnetic concealed access panels finished to match.
